What is ILAC?
ILAC is the international membership organisation for
accreditation bodies operating in accordance with
ISO/IEC 17011.
The ILAC MRA is an agreement signed by the signatory
accreditation bodies to recognize the equivalence of the
accreditation schemes within their signatory status. It
provides assurance that bodies from different
economies operate to the same international standard.

All members are able and encouraged to join, participate and contribute to the work of ILAC.
Task Forces are generally set up to complete a particular task and are disbanded on completion.
Working Groups are generally discussion groups in a particular area.
Active participation and contribution to the work of ILAC in the Mid-Term and Annual Meetings.
All members are obliged to support the acceptance of the Arrangements.
Voting may be conducted at the meetings, or electronically.
ILAC members have an obligation to vote in a timely manner for documents that are circulated for
ballot.
ILAC relies on the support of the regions in providing evaluators for carrying out the evaluations of the
recognised regions.
